SOLD OUT: Join us in the Spectator boardroom for the next in this year’s series of Spectator Winemaker lunches with Oliver Humbrecht MW of leading Alsace producer, Domaine Zind-Humbrecht.
The wines of Alsace are utterly charming and probably the most food-friendly of all (and the Alsaciens should know, they boast more Michelin-starred restaurants than anywhere else in France other than Paris).
Over a delicious four-course cold lunch provided by Forman & Field, Olivier will show and discuss six of his exceptional wines: the dry 2014 Muscat Goldert Grand Cru as an aperitif; the 2014 Riesling Roche Calcaire and 2014 Riesling Roche Volcanique side by side with the first course; the robust and full-flavoured 2014 Pinot Gris Clos Windsbuhl with the main; the powerful and spicy 2013 Gewurztraminer Rangen de Thann Clos Saint Urbain Grand Cru with the cheese and the lusciously sweet 2010 Muscat Clos Jebsal Vendange Tardive with pudding.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan or yet to discover the many joys of Alsace and its inimitable wines, this promises to be a fascinating and hugely enjoyable occasion in the company of one of the region’s finest winemakers.
