Description:
Join us in the Spectator boardroom on Thursday 9 February for the first of the year’s Spectator winemaker lunches with Mark Walford, partner in the leading Roussillon estate, Le Soula.
Set high in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the vineyards of Le Soula have long been managed organically and are now fully biodynamic, producing exceptional old-vine fruit from such varieties as Marsanne, Roussanne, Vermentino, Carignan, Syrah and Grenache. The resulting wines are exceptionally fine, rare (only 4,000 cases made a year) and hugely sought-after by connoisseurs and collectors alike.
Over a four-course cold lunch provided by Forman & Field, Mark will introduce and discuss the 2006, 2008 and 2011 Le Soula Blanc and the 2005, 2008 and 2011 Le Soula Rouge. And as a further treat, Mark has promised to bring along an experimental wine too.
This promises to be a heavily over-subscribed event, so book now to avoid disappointment.
Please note this event is now SOLD OUT. To join the wait list, email wineschool@spectator.co.uk.
