Description:
South Africa’s Hemel-en-Aarde (“Heaven and Earth”) Valley is a blessed spot. With perfect soil and blazing sun tempered by cooling ocean breezes wafted across the whale-watchers’ paradise that is Walker Bay, it is home to many fine wineries. There are none finer, though, than Hamilton Russell Vineyards, home to what many consider to be South Africa’s greatest Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. They’re certainly the most Burgundian in style.
The great Anthony Hamilton Russell himself – star of many a Spectator Winemaker’s Lunch – will join us from his estate as he talks us through three of his fabled wines and discusses the many challenges that currently face South African winemakers.
£100 for three 75cl bottles (the details of which are to be confirmed), tasting notes and access to our exclusive live Zoom tasting and Q&A.
